Workshop Description: Every Wednesday in February for 2 hours

Join me in my studio for an intensive workshop focused on the art of color. This hands-on experience is designed for artists of all levels who want to enhance their painting skills by mastering color mixing. Over several weeks, participants will learn to identify and mix colors using limited palettes, boosting their artistic expression.

Workshop Highlights

• Color Theory Fundamentals: Delve into the basics of color theory, including color charts, color matching, and harmony using a limited palette.

• Study/Copy Masters: By observing the masters, artists can enhance their understanding of color and improve their ability to create compelling artworks of their own.

• Homework Assignments: Weekly homework will be assigned to reinforce class concepts, allowing one week to complete.

• Critique Sessions: At the start of each class, in-person participants will present their homework and receive feedback before being assigned new homework. Each week will build on the previous one. In-person students will have priority for feedback and critiques but I will try to get to online students if time permits.

Goals of the Workshop

• Gain an understanding of mixing clean, sophisticated colors with accurate values.

• Build confidence in mixing any color using a limited palette.

• Improve the ability to critique and appreciate color usage in art.
